So farewell then QXL: it’s been 11 years

QXL (pron. "quick sell" – geddit?) has announced that it’s shutting its UK site as of May 30, and will not accept any more listings after May 9; your last day to bid or buy will be May 19.
And so draws to an end 11 years of the dream that had been fostered – that a British-built company might be able to take on the rest of the dot-com world.
